This is how we do it
#OurWorld
We’re flashy but for real.
At BoYan, we celebrate authenticity and those willing to do it their way. We take this attitude into all aspects of our business.
Here is some information about your clothes and our activities: what we’re doing, how we’re doing it, and what we’re hoping to achieve.
We’re always looking to improve, but we think we’re doing well.
Recycled materials– in each and every product.
The process behind our fabric is pretty fancy. Our workout tops, bike shorts and leggings are all 88% nylon; it’s what makes our activewear iconically soft and comfy. All of our nylon is sourced from recycled materials– so far, they’re all from recycled fish nets.
Our manufacturing partner uses a high-tech nylon regeneration process that reduces the nylon back to its chemical foundations, stripping out all impurities to create a brand-new yarn. The regenerated nylon yarn is completely clean, fully functional, and ready for a second life.
Alongside nylon, we also use polyester, mostly in our t-shirts. The polyester in our clothes is 100% recycled, made from plastic bottles.
Linear fashion is a huge issue.
We want to do things differently.
The linear life of activewear
Most active wear is still made from ‘virgin’ synthetics that rely on fossil fuel extraction, exacerbating the climate crisis. Alongside this, a global fast-fashion culture means that every year, billions of items of clothing end up in the trash.
This is a linear pathway– fashion becomes a pit stop between fossil fuels and a garbage dump.
Our goal? Less waste and more wellness.
We think we society can do better by moving toward circularity. While there’s still more work to do, our first step has been to start with recycled material, create a community, and establish a brand that is looking to do good.
